Default Best Fairchild and Pultec plugins ?

I am looking for the best Fairchild and Pultec plugins.

So far here is what I have found.

Fairchild:
- Waves Puigchild
- Bomb Factory
- IK Multimedia T-Rack
- Universal Audio Fairchild

Pultec
- Waves Puigtec
- Softube Tube-Tech
- IK Multimedia T-Rack
- Universal Audio Pultec

Any feedback on those would be appreciated.

Why not download the demos and evaluate them for yourself? (in the case of the UA plugs- you require their hardware...)

don't forget that Bomb Factory also has a Pultec emulation. I'm currently selling mine on eBay, as I already own the Waves version.

I've never done a A/B comparison of the two, but I prefer the metering on the Waves version. The Bomb Factory version lacks meters.

About the Pultecs: I don't know the IK Pultec but I've got all of the others; they're all good but a little different from one another.

Fairchild: I love Fairchilds!! Have all of those on the list. The Waves got the best ballistics, the IK sounds the best to me, the BF is really different but can saturate in a really nice way. I don't like the UA one though - too slow and no color.

I love the entire Softube Classic Channel, including the PE 1C. I don't like the Puigtec as much but I do like it. I've never used a real Fairchild however, so my judgement there is purely based on the plug-ins. That said, I prefer the iK and UA versions.

Nomad Factory's Pulse-Tech is a pretty good Pultec EQ.

I'm currently selling 2 T-Racks singles licenses.

Both brand new, unregistered and I even have the discs in original cases.

Each one allows a license for any of the 10 singles offered by T-Racks which includes both the Pultec and the Fairchild emu's.

30 Euros each if anyones interested.

Avid have a fairchild and a pultec and IMHO they're pretty good.

The great part about Avid plugs is they don't seem to sting you for updates and you can probably get the ilok assets used for peanuts.

If you pick up classic compressors V4 you'll get a few other goodies too!

I have a hardware ADL Fairchild 670 and it is totally amazing. I've tried all of the software emulations and the Waves Puigchild is the only one that sounds similar to the real deal. When you use it along with the Slate Virtual channel, set to Neve, it's pretty much dead on.

Also, the Puig Tech EQ's are pretty darn good too.

So I guess springing for Slate Virtual Channel and the Waves Puigchild is a pretty good deal compared to a $19,000 ADL.
