Default Plugins disappear from list after a while, re-appear when quit/re-open

This is a very unusual issue.
I open a new session, open some plugins as inserts, everything working normally. The randomly, after a while, if I try to insert a new plugin, there`s nothing on the list, except the separator lines. The already open plugins, although working, appear on the list as "n/a".

It also happens when I open an old session.

If I look at the plugins folder, everything's in order.

Then I quit Pro Tools, re-open it, and everything's back to normal. But this happens all the time!

I'm running a Mac Pro with OSX 10.6.8

Any clues?

Have all your plugins been updated for compatibility with your OS & version of Pro Tools?

Otherwise try Trashing Preferences.

I am having the EXACT same issue. I trashed the preferences and this did not solve the problem. Any other ideas?

I have also tried re-installing PT. Still didn't do anything...

I am running Pro Tools 9 on Mac OS 10.6.8.

Thanks for the answers, guys. I thought I would receive an e-mail if someone answered my thread. I'm such a noob.

My plugins are latest, and trashing preferences didn't work for me either.

EMGactive, is your machine an OSX86? I ran into a guy that had that problem on an OSX86, Intel.

Hoping someone else had this issue...

ashwalk - are you using a legit version of Pro Tools ? I'm asking this because the problem you're experiencing is a well known issue with cracked Pro Tools 9 . I own HD 9 license and never heard about this problem with a legit version .

Well, formin, yes, legit version.

And where did you know about this problem on cracked versions of Pro Tools?
If they had this problem too, it would be nice to know if they found what's causing it, since it's clearly not a cracked-version-only problem.

I had this happen to me. Turns out the USB extension cable to my keyboard came loose, momentarily disconnecting my iLok which was plugged into the keyboard hub.
