Default Confusion! Installed UAD4.6 and dly drops to zero?!

I use Pro Tools LE 7.3cs2 and I just installed the UAD-1 plugins 4.6, although at the same time I installed the new FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper (2.11) and Novation Automap Server (no idea if this is relevant, but just in case).

After installing the above software, suddenly all the dly values reported per strip in Pro Tools dropped to 0, or very close to zero (1,2 or 3). They had all previously been 2000-8000 depending on the number of UAD plugins. I had been using Digidesign DelayComp Long plugins to keep everything in sync, however now everything is completely off. Has anything changed recently with respect to any of this? Has anyone seen this behaviour before, ie. previously high latency plugins ceasing to report any delay?

Thanks!

ikelk,

This may be totally irrelevant, but maybe not. When PSP released their updates recently for Vintage Warmer 2, Master Q, etc., the new versions did not report latency properly in Pro Tools (PT read latency as 0 when it was really thousands of samples). This seemed like a surprise to PSP. PSP had to make some changes to get the latency reporting properly. Maybe something is different in 7.3.x that requires latency reporting a bit differently. Might be worth asking UAD.

Greg

Check the hardware buffer in pt it affect the uad plugins delay [ if it was on 1024 when you used the plugins in the first time and now is ghanged the uad plugins report is not correct .Also check the buffer in uad card If the buffer in uad is smaller than pt use the extra buffers.

Thanks.. I don't think it's the pro tools buffer because that's only been set to 256 or 512 (1024 never works.. it returns errors, and 2048 isn't even visible). I'll certainly check the UAD buffer though, that could well yield some surprises.
