Default Contacting AVID regarding 002 service

So Avid want's 80$ to let me contact them? I can't find any way of contacting them regarding a 002 power harness issue. Cause I've heard they have a DIY fix kit for this.

But do they seriousely expect us to pay 80$ for asking them a simple question?

With something that is out of warranty, your best move is to go straight to an authorized service shop. They are all over and many can be found thru some digging on the main site(sorry I don't have a direct link for you). In Nashville, AllPro Electronics does great work and they have a website. You might just send them an email ([email protected])on this and see what they have to say For many, the 002 will come back to life by simply reseating each harness connection 5-6 times to scrape thru the oxide buildup. A new harness is around $30-40 and there is a different harness depending on if its the rack version or the controller version.

No, actually we don't.
  1. There is a "Repairs" option on the phone system for customers that need to schedule (or check status of) a repair. This does not require an Avid Support Code. Click here for more info about support.
  2. As stated in this DUC thread, we have been referring customers to Authorized Repair Centers or Resellers to get the 002 DC Harness.
Hope this info helps.
