Default Theft, what do I buy now?

So the cable installer got me(contracted). Moved into a new place and when I turned around the installer was gone with one of my racks. In it was my hd 192 i/o 96i/o and crappy cd / dat stuff that I never used. So I'm going to be replacing at least the 192 i/o and 96 i/o. This is a small room that does budget based recording and production editing on the hd2 setup with a mac pro, tascam dm4800 controller, midi i/o and sync i/o. I do not need the additional i/o from the 96 i/o. Should the next move be to native and find two used 192 i/o's or HD I/O.

Then why are you looking to replace it? Sounds like you just need a single 192 i/o interface.

All kidding aside though, sorry to hear of your troubles, hope you filed a police report and filed a complaint with the BBB on the contractor that stole your stuff.

Well I have insurance. Because of this I'm actually thinking of increasing the amount of insurance coverage I have to include some excluded items. I may not directly replace the 96 i/o. Maybe just the new HD I/O with an additional card would suffice. I filed a police report, contacted the company, filed an insurance clam, but have not filed a BBB yet.

I was really looking into whether or not I should purchase a native interface and new hd i/o or just re-purchase a 192 i/o or a new hd i/o and stick with the HD2 that's installed in the system. The big difference appears to be getting by without TDM plugs.

How many inputs do you need at any one time? If its a project room that doesn't record full bands or drum kits, the new Omni might be a great choice. Otherwise, the new HD I/O is reported to sound much better than the old 96 or 192 IO.
