Default "Pro Tools can't be opened" after installing PT 11.2.2 on Mac
Anyone else upgrade from 11.2.1 to 11.2.2 and have it fail? I can't open Pro Tools!! I get a message and progress bar saying

Verifying "Pro Tools.app"

and then an error message that says

"Pro Tools.app" can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

WTF!? My system is completely broken from a simple service upgrade? I'm not interested in paying $80.00 to get this fixed either! Was working just fine until 10 minutes ago.

OSX 10.9.5

Did you uninstall the previous driver and install the new driver? You have to do that first before installing and using the update.

Sorry… that wasn't helpful. … I read in the install notes that there's an HDX firmware update in 11.2.2 too.

That is a security system pref. not a Avid problem.
In prefs / security, you need "allow apps downloaded from anywhere", not just the app. store.

Go to system pref>security and privacy, set "allow app downloaded from" to anywhere. You have unlock it and type your PW.

If you want to leave that pref at a more secure setting, simply right+click the Pro Tools app and select Open, then click Open. SHould only need to do this the first time after you install PT.

I created this KB article to explain it, and added a link to that in the installation section of the Pro Tools 11.2.2 page.
