Can you use the Control 24 alone with Pro Tools?
Hello everyone,
I am a newbie, so please forgive me if this has been discussed already. My question is this...I am going to buy a Control 24, and am wondering if you need to use a interface (like a 002) with the Control 24 for it to synch with Pro Tools? I will be recording bands, but the majority of the work done on the Control 24 will be mixing and finalizing projects already recorded via Pro Tools, and in Pro Tools sessions. It will be used just as a control surface for the Pro Tools sessions already on the computer(pc). Will the Pro Tools session out from the pc to the Control 24 be seen and controlled via the Control 24? Is this done via the ethernet connection? Do I need a 002 rack just for the recording part of things? I guess what I am asking is can the Control 24 be a stand alone controller for Pro Tools without any interface like a 002. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope I explained my question well enough for everyone to understand. Thanks again for the help!

the Control 24 is a controller of Pro Tools and some mic pres and monitoring control
you will still need the 002 for Pro Tools to launch and to get audio in and out of the computer

DB25 snakes. DB25 connector on one end and TRS's on the other.
You'll need at least 3: 1 for Ctrl 24 1-8 or 9-16 line out 1 for PT Sources in 1 for Monitors out If you have a second AD/DA then grab another so you can run all 16 These work (But I'd get something higher quality): http://cgi.ebay.com/HOSA-DTP-804-8-C...2em118Q2el1247 Guitar Center has them too.
