Default PTLE 8.0.4 Win7 x64 reverts to internal clock

ok, one thing I have noticed now that I moved to a Win7 x64 platform with 8.0.4 is that every time I boot my system it reverts to the internal clock. I am using an RME ADI to clock my 002r.

My computer has changed, but my firewire card is the same. the 002r and RME are the same. the computer and OS (and drivers) are new as well. when i was running 32-bit WinXP, I didn't have this going on, but now, every time I boot up the "1394" LED is blinking (indicating no sync). however, once I launch Pro Tools and it finds the 002R, it stops blinking, but it has reverted to internal clock. I can then go change the clock to external and everything works fine.

why won't it stay set to external clock like it used to (the hardware is fine...)? anyone else seeing this? is there an application or registry setting to set a default?

Mike

I've notice the same here with different hardware. I think maybe Avid needs to give us a firmware update.

Same here on XP, Digi support already said it's listed for a fix...
Hopefully we get a fix for 8.0.4 in general very soon, I'm tired of waiting.
Last version simulated the power-harness issue here, had it fixed twice without result and then 8.0.4 came out and fixed that, but then created all sort of other issues.
To be very honest, this is an ongoing trend since day one I started working with PT 10 years ago.
