Maybe we are having the same problem because our Macs are old.

On my Macbook Pro 2019 it worked perfectly.

Do you have Zoom and its ZoomAudioTool driver installed on your machine?

My home install of PT crashes when I try to open a 44.1 kHz session. Zoom wants 48k.

I have I think a very similar system and Software versions but so far have not had any crashes ??????

I don't have ZoomAudioTool driver installed

My Imac have original 750 Gb SSD drive.

The problems is only in Ptools 2020!

the version 2109.12 work fine in Catalina OS X

Same problem here, I can't launch any 'old' session (created with PT2019.12), Pt crashes while opening session, don't even have an error message.
So going back to PT2019 (Though I payed for updates ...)

Hi,

We're having the same trouble with one of our systems. It keeps crashing when trying to load 'older versions' sessions. We found out it's Pro Compressor, (or at least Pro Compressor), since Pro Tools crashes when we try creating a new session and plugin Pro Compressor in.
Please, let us know if you find any workaround!

On our case, it turned out to be a licence expiration issue. Our system was disconnected from the internet for security reasons, so when HD plug ins package subscription expired, Pro Tools kept trying to connect to the internet, and being impossible, made the system crash.

Can't open any previous sessions.


PT 2020.3, Mac OS 10.15.4

Step 1. Create a new session, and add one track
Step 2. Don't add ANY plugs to the session
Step 3. Save Session
Step 4. Close session
Step 5. Open Session---> ALWAYS Crash.
Step 6. Create a new blank session, and use session import to add previous tracks.
