Only if you turn off your 003 and you still want to use the TC.. the 003's FW ports don't pass data through if it's turned off.

...Though a nice thing is they do supply bus power, which not all firedaisies do.

Firewire driver implementations are so terrible that there's no way to predict what is going to work before you try it on your own setup. The SIIG firewire card is in use here to get two busses for all my goodies. Multiple ports on the mac does NOT mean there are multiple firewire busses, even fw800 and fw400 ports share the same bus.
