Default video monitors

Greetings,

I have a very small mixing room and am at present am using a 77cm wide screen CRT tv as
a video monitor. Centre speaker sits under this and so is roughly in same plane as left/right
speakers. My 2 x 20 inch computer monitors sit about a foot in front of the speaker. Picture
available in Gallery section at www.wombatstudios.com.au

Interested in getting views on:

1. LCD tv monitors for picture and how to get around the audio/video sync probs that would
drive me spare. Is there such a thing as a flat screen monitor that doesn't have sync problems?

2. Centre speaker positioning in small studios. I've read the theory, but how do you get around
the size of the room?

This is a warning not to buy a 24inch i-mac for home and start thinking.....wouldn't mind a couple
of larger LCD's for the protools rig!
A couple of large computer monitors would effectively hide the centre speaker.

thanks,
cheers,
John.

Pro Tools can compensate for the delay from and LCD TV
now if you run a tape this is where problems start

well most of the video I use as a sync master comes off a SP betacam tape. It's feeding
VITC and LTC into the digi sync. All clock locked to a master black source which emenates
from a TV station that I'm in the same building as.

cheers
John.
