Maximum tracks import from AVID?

Sorry for the "duh" but I'm not a PT user. I'm an editor and I'm preparing a sequence for OMF from AVID. My question is how many tracks can and OMF accept and still all be useable by a Pro-tools system TDM or LE? Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

I'll answer this as no one else has! so to the best of my knowledge... Le system can only play back a maximum of 32 audio tracks at once! but can have almost unlimited tracks loaded, just 32 tracks only will be assigned a voice.

HD tdm systems can have upto 196 tracks but earlier versions were restricted to less! mix system i think are 48 tracks, but don't quote me on this one! it probably depends on how many prosess cards the user has! and again more tracks can be loaded just only 48 voices will be available!

OMF from other audio aps can often be a problem, usually different bit rates/sample rates and stereo audio files are the main problems! but with Avid you should have non of these problems.
