Default Unable to bounce down to Mp3

Hi

When I try to bounce down a mix from pro tools into mp3 format it comes up with an error message saying, " The MP3 option cannot be enabled because: Module initialization failed for MP3.bundle. The MP3 demo period may have expired"

Has anyone else had this problem? Im running pro tools 8 m-powered.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Assuming you have purchased MPTK 1/2 or the MP3 option separately, yes?

There was a problem with the MP3 option under Leopard, what version of Pro Tools?

You need to install the MP3 option, which is a separate installer in the Optional Installers folder.

There is no Optional Installers folder on the PTLE 8.0 upgrade download. How do I get my MP3 capability back?

go to: digidesign.com > support and downloads > Pro Tools M-Powered 8 > MP3 Option.

You can download the installer from there, here's the link:

Hey I'm jumping in on this thread b/c the solution offered didn't work for me.

I bought the MBox2 Mini for my MacBook with OSX 10.6.2.

I am wondering if the MP3 Bundle (which I installed both from the CD and then from the link offered above) does not work until I install the upgrade to 8.0.3, which is downloading now...

I know my profile says 8.0.3, but I am 8.0 upgrading to 8.0.3 as we speak.

Thanks in advance for any illumination! I am brand new to recording. Thanks,

Did you purchase the MP3 option? And if you do own it is the asset listed on your ilok? If you have an older version with a code, you need to get the iLok asset instead which I believe you can request from the digi support emails.

Ok, no I did not purchase the MP3 option. All I purchased was the MBox2 Mini, which comes with Pro Tools LE. I went through all the iLok stuff when I installed it, but I don't really remember what all that entailed.

So I guess I now have a few more questions. Where is the iLok so I can see if the asset is listed? Older version with a code - what does this mean?

Thanks and apologies for my ignorance!

If you didn't purchase the MP3 option then you don't have it. Sorry...

Plug-in your iLok and log in to ilok.com to see what assets are installed on it.

That's amazing to me that you pay $200 something for a box to record music and they won't even give you the functionality to write to mp3. Even itunes can convert songs to m4a format...

Disappointed but illuminated! Thanks!
