Default error 6088, please help

hello,
i have had the m-box for about 6 months running with my pc. i used to be able to have plenty of tracks going but every oce in a while the audio would just cut out and id have to close the session and reopen it to get sound back. recently the session woont even make past about 2 seconds and now it just stops and says error 6088 increase or decrease buffer size, but that never works. so i just upgraded to the rack 002 and i still have the problem. I am using pro tools 7.0 and ive tried most all the tricks for preformance. anyone help at all, thank you

I used to get this error until I disabled my Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. Once I did that the problem went away.

Most of the time when this happens (not all) it seems to be caused by the hard drive not being able to keep up. Are you recording to your system drive? It is recommended to record and playback to a physically separate drive. Also make sure you don't have any other applications taking up CPU time like antivirus software. Turn off wireless networking and any other sound card. Hope that helps.
