Default Meters and Faders not working/freezing

Meters and faders freeze when in the mixer window and sometimes in the edit windo
Tips anyone ?

PT 7.1cs9
dell 640M
1 gig mem

I had a problem like this myself. It turned out to be my video card was hogging system resources. In my case I had dual monitors and I had checked a box that allowed the deskstops to overlap. I unchecked it and problem solved! While fiddleing with it last week I tuned on hardware acceleration and I can have overlapping deskstops now. Hope that helps.
