Help! Issues with Apogee Trak2 and 002R

I have a Trak2 hooked up to a 002R optically. When I first turn them on (Trak2 first), the 002R locks onto the signal and the front led for 44.1 (what I'm recording in) light up. However, totally random, either in Pro Tools or out, it'll click, the 44.1 light goes off, and it'll stay off until it decides to come back, only to click out again. Obviously Pro Tools gives me the message that it cannot communicate with the 002R when this happens.

I don't know if it's an issue with it locking onto the Trak2's signal, OR if it's a problem with the 002R itself. I tried a shorter firewire cable, no luck.

I'm losing precious mic rental time here.

I guess it has nothing to do with the Trak2. I guess it's this power harness issue, which is completely unacceptable. They should not be shipping units with such a huge issue at that kind of price. It should JUST work.

I spent ALL DAY when I should have been recording vocals trying to figure out why this thing was not working. Not to mention I had a ton of other work to do this weekend.

I'm looking at losing up to $875 because of this, given that it'll take them a few days to even get the thing to me.

I can't even describe how frustrated this has me.
