Does anyone know offhand if there's a keycombo you can hold down on power up, etc. on an S3 to initiate any sort of test routine where the buttons light up and faders move up and down as a quick test... hopefully screens light up, etc?

I'm not sure if there is a flying faders demo mode like the old DigiDesign surfaces, but S3 has Utility Mode in case that is what you are looking for.

Yup. There's Vegas mode under utility.

OMG!! The slot machine effect on the OLEDs is just one of the most awesome things I've ever seen!! It's good to see there were some programmers with that much spare time on their hands!

$2K. Free shipping. It’s in great shape and wasn’t another like it for less anywhere. Some have said that’s too much to pay, but if it lasts it will be worth it for me. It will fit my desk perfectly.

If you are considering the Avid Support Plan for the S3 you will need to make sure you do the Transfer of Ownership with Avid. The form is available online.

I love the S3/Dock combo. Amazing price/performance. I've used S1s, S4s and S6s. I have the annual support contract on my S3. And if it dies completely in 2027 or 2028, I'll be going up in the S-series to replace it, not down.
