Mbox 2 not working
I have a Macbook Pro 2.4 G w/ 4G of RAM.
10.5.4 Leapord. My computer crashed and I had to ship it back to apple to get the ram fixed. before I shipped it back one of the things that happened was the Mbox quit working. I also tried my Mbox mini as well and it does not work. both USB ports no dice. It sees it in the system profiler. When I get into the system prefs and I click on the Mbox icon it opens and says not connected. It won't even let me try to connect it. It also says firmware version not available. (1.38 is what it is I think) the newest firmware anyway. It's like the USB isn't working. I plugged an apple keyboard into it and it was operating fine. again the system profiler sees it in the USB port. any help would be appreciated. Please start with the steps in the General Troubleshooting thread. We'll also need to know which version of Pro Tools you have installed.

I've been through the general stuff.
Protools 7.4.2 cs1 The thing is it was all working fine until I had some RAM issues and my firewire drives stopped showing up. got the computer repaired but it didn't help this issue. But everything else is working right now fine. Of course without MBox I can't run Pro-tools. any suggestions, rob |

I've done all I know.
I've fixed permissions. I've updated to Protools 7.4.2cs2 I ran the digi protools tech folder. nothing is making a difference. The Mbox2 and Mbox2 mini both do NOT work at all in either USB port. I have plugged in a USB keyboard just to make sure the USB port is working. Keyboard works fine. Also the system profiler is seeing the Mbox as when it's plugged into the USB port. I really need this immediately. any help would be greatly appreciated. rob |

Try zapping the PRAM:
