Default Pro Tools 7.3.1cs2 Problems!!

I just upgraded to PT 7.3.1cs2 and have some big problems.
first off, i'm using pro tools with an 002R, and a quad G5 with 2Gigs of ram...
1. start up is extreamly slow.
2. play back/stop has a second or two delay
3. the program is exremly slow now, i cant stress this enough. i'm tired of looking at that damn beach ball.
4. ableton live is no longer recognized through Rewire so i can't use it.
5. i've got a plugin called ALTIVERB 5.1(HTDM) and any tracks that it was already on (before the upgrade), will not play audio through them. i.e. if i've got a snare or vocal with this reverb on it no audio will pass through the reverb plug in, it has to be removed for the audio to reappear. i did some long research and discoverd PT7.3.1 no longer accepts HTDM plugins so i went to altiverbs site and basically downgraded my $1000 program to an RTAS plugin. now audio will go through, but only if it feels like it. i don't know why.
6. Things Called compressor 1,2, and limiter 1 now pop up in a dialog box stating these plugins no longer exist or something to that effect.

any help would be extremly appreciated, if theres nothing i can do to fix ALL of these problems(i can deal with the compressor/limiter problem) then how would i go back to PT 7.1. and would this be difficult or result in any other problems. because of all the stress PT 7.3.1cs2 has caused me i really don't like it at all. PT 7.1 functioned absollutly perfect and wasn't slow at all!! Thanks...

You may be having problems with your plug-ins. One test is to remove them all, trash preferences and see if that helps. Then add the plugs back until you see a problem.

Also, repair premissions.

The older plugs have been moved to an inactive plug folder and can't be used since they are not system 7 compatible. You will have to insert the current plugs like Compressor 3.

Hope it helps.
