cpu temp
Hello once again. Just a curious guy I am. I read a lot (which can be dangerous) and my latest paranoid concern is CPU temp. I saw someone expressing concern about hitting 41 or 42 C and thought I would check lest I melt down my precious Digi 001 system that I specially built with my hard earned Canadian bucks. Well lo and behold I checked it in the Bios and it was sitting at a steady 48 C. I just about dropped dead on the spot. I have a extra case fan in addition to the other standards.... CPU fan and of course Power supply fan. My system is however in a closet behind a large curtain for silence reasons and the space is large and has what I thought was enough breathing room. So of course off comes the case cover and into the closet goes a small floor fan for more air movement and as I write this and watch my bios screen on the other side of the room the temp is holding steady at 46.5 C not a great improvement for removing the case cover and adding a fan. I have to say though I have experienced no lockups or funny stuff so far and the mother board temp is sitting at around 29 C Am I freaking out for no reason or should I buy another fan or move my computer or both? This machine I am using right now is the kids and is sitting at around 68 C and seems to run great. It is a Asus PV3 4X with a P3 500 and has an extra pci slot fan. Do I worry too much or what? Your thoughts ? ...... Tom
By the way my Digi 001 system is an Asus CUSL 2 C running a P3 750 three hard drives and a ATA 100 controller as well as a Matrox 550 AGP dual video card |
