Upgrades.
Ok, now I'm irritated. When I originally got Pro Tools, the 6.1 upgrade was free, but I didnt have XP so I didnt download it. Now I just got XP, and lo and behold its $75?? WTF. Am I going to have to shovel out almost $100 every time they upgrade this software? I bought this system because it seemed cost effective, though not nearly as powerful as stand alone converter/card and 3rd party software systems i.e. RME card with Cubase or Neuendo . If Digi is going to try to ding me for $75 every few months, that cost effectiveness goes right out the window and I'm left with a system that is just not very powerful and every bit as expensive. And now that I'm on XP, I cant even use the software I had anymore.

Re: Upgrades.
Take a deep breath.. the 6.1 upgrade was never a download. What Digi hardware do you have and when did you buy it? Did you register your product?

Re: Upgrades.
With your original 5.1 s/n you could get this: PTLE 5.3.1 for WINXP....
http://www.digidesign.com/download/winup/531le/ This is available as a download, and should get you going on WinXP. You should register your system, and contact Digidesign to ask how you can get your hands on ptle 6.1. I believe that if you were eligeble for a free update back then, you still are...
