ProTools HD with File Encryption
With all of the hacking that is going on, I was thinking about encrypting my hard drives. Will ProTools be able to play material from an encrypted drive?
Thanks in Advance, Tom |

Re: ProTools HD with File Encryption
Can't say for sure, but I wouldn't think so. ProTools can't deal with FileVault of a home folder, which might be similar. If the encryption was done on a hardware level in the drive case itself, like some of the secure Rokstor cases, maybe it would work.
But if you build some encrypted images, probably not. |

Re: ProTools HD with File Encryption
I did this with truecrypt. Works well with a full encrypted drive and it's unbreakable but you need to know how to set things up to reduce drive performance loss.
Maybe you must just choose a good password and buy a proper firewall if you think intruders could come from the external wan. |
