Sorry, can you explain hardware support? I've never, ever needed hardware support. AVID's hardware has never been their problem. Software issues seems to be their kryptonite. So, we are paying through the nose for rarely seen hardware issues? I feel better, already!

Is it more difficult to implement them in PTU...... I don´t know... I mean PTU costs 2499 from the start with 400 for the following years...Why for features, which are for both versions... Vanilla and Ultimate...
2018.12 is working great with hdx under 10.13.6. Great, but what took it so long to support a OS, which is obsolet, when you buy a new mac, which comes with 10.14...

Anyway... Why must PTU Users pay so much more for the support plan for features, which are included in vanilla PT... What is the price for the normal PT Plan 99 $...

The next thing... Avid promised to deliver new features faster with the new price model... Is this true...? What do you think
Take a look at the comparison chart, Vanilla vs HD. It's very possible that you won't need the added features of HD. Those feature differences are unproportional to the cost difference, and many of us don't understand the logic behind it, except that they know that they can demand more from customers who buy HD.

It was a very strategic move to take specific "pro" features out HD and offer it as Vanilla, knowing that those couple of missing features are just enough to keep many studios invested in HD. For instance, I could use Vanilla but I need multiple video tracks in one session, and the additional I/O. But the difference between Vanilla and HD is only a couple of things, so it's the *least* amount of technical upkeep for Avid. Capitalistically, it's a wise short term structure for them. It has cost them many customers in the long term, as we've witnessed, but they're sticking to their guns.
