All,
Pro Tools M-Powered for Apple OSX 10.4 ("Tiger") is being actively tested as I write. Early testing (that occurred weeks ago) uncovered bugs that have since been fixed and are being confirmed as such by the test team now. We expect to complete this work in the next couple of days and hope to have updates available in the first half of this month.

Thanks for your patience, and please know that we are working hard to give you exactly what you are asking for: Pro Tools M-Powered support for OSX 10.4 "Tiger"...ASAP!

Thanks, this should make me sleep tight tonight. Was just planning to return my MP-software and forget about Protools in my mobile-setup. I can wait patiently for bugfixes from a company....but what I don´t like about this, is the feeling of MP being a last-priority software.
I choose though, to believe that this will change in the future.

It's a beautifull place, perfect for that music scene.

I'd be better running pro-tools, blasting it out LIVE !

Hello to all here,

As I can't see any "good news" post, I guess the necessary update is'nt ready.

After 14 years on Atari and then PC as a Cubase user, I bought my first Mac G5 on may 16th, planning to use it only to work PT M-Powered.

I'm waiting until this date with a completely unuseable set : PT M-Powered 6.8 + G5 OSX Tiger + FW410

As I'm a music teacher (computer's music too...) I can't stay with a non-working software for such a long time. If the update wouldn't come this week, I'll certainly go to Logic and will suggest my computer's music students to do the same if they want to work on Mac.

I should have only hoped my first meeting with PT could be softer.
Hope this first won't be the last...

Your situation, and all of our situation, is similar to what happened with those in the Graphic Design field when OSX was released. If you're familiar to graphics, or have a friend that is, you will remember that Quark was "hands-down" the industry layout standard for print graphics.

When OS9 was around, the big jump to OSX was made. They had delayed for over a year after OSX's release to provide an update. Today, needless to say, Quark has lost its "standard" status. Not to say that designers no longer use it, but Adobe crept in and has gained recognition as the industry standard. Why? Because Adobe didn't mess around. Those guys are so intertwined with Apple, and are so consience of its customers demands, that they realized delays such as this are not acceptable.

Nevertheless, I am glad Digidesign had the decency to announce that they were working on it.
We are all excited to see this update come soon.

Word, I tried doing this first thing (installing Panther) on my new G5 but it will only run Tiger. Anywho it swhould be noted when I said patiently waiting I really meant nervously checking for the update daily as work piles up more and more.
