Default Deactivate All Plugins - Pro Tools Session loading speed

Guys when I deactivate all my Pro Tools plugins (holding shift while opening a Pro Tools session) the session loads extremely fast - it's a night and day difference.

Before I thought the session loading speed was related to the SSD speed of my Mac Pro 2019 (loading samples etc) however having discovered that its the plugins which cause the session to load slowly, is there a work around for this or is it purely based on the plugins as Im using a lot of virtual instruments?

I have my HW Buffer Size at 1024 and Disk Playback Cache Size set to normal (Ive tried to use different sizes but it doesn't make a difference with the cache). Im on a 16 core 3.2Ghz Intel Xeon, 160 GB ram. Cheers.

Hi,

Loading instruments you are also loading their sounds / samples. There's nothing to be done regarding loading speed really unless you have all your sounds and samples are on SSD drives if they aren't already.

Think yourself lucky its not the 70s/80s! it used to be 2 hours arrive in the studio to check and calibrate everything before starting a session

LOL Those were the days hahaha

Setting up the drums was a day alone and not counting all other gear that needed experts to engineer and setup! If it takes a minute or two to load a 100+ session with VI and plugins that is a really weird thing to complain about.

Indeed, we've become a world of people standing in front of the microwave yelling, "Come on already!"

Just enough time to get a coffee, tea or other beverage and drink it before you sit down in front of electronics.
