It sounds like a Disk I/O card, as used in Pro Tools III systems. The connections are for an external SCSI drive and a Digidesign I/O box like the 882 or 888.

I may be a little late to help you here, but let me give it a shot.

You definately have a disk I/O card which is only used in Pro Tools III systems. In order to use this disk I/O in a complete operational system, you must have a SCSI hard drive plugged into it, at least one DSP Farm card installed with a TDM riddon node cable connecting the PCI cards, and any version of Pro Tools TDM software 4.2 through 5.0.1. Not to mention, as with any Pro Tools system you need some sort of audio interface and accompanying connector cable. The interfaces that work with Pro Tools III are: 882 I/O (not 882 studio), 882/20 I/O, 888 I/O (not the 24-bit one), 1622 I/O, and the ADAT Bridge. I know all of these are supported with version 5 software but I don't know about the earlier ones.

Pro Tools III is 16-bit and capable of only 16 playback voices (tracks playing back simultaneously) with one disk I/O and hard drive. Nevertheless, it is a great 'bang for the buck' TDM system nowadays given the cheap prices for components in the used market.
