Pro Tools 10 Wont Launch

Just realized you are trying to run PT10 on Windows 10. According to:

. . . that is not supported. Although the 1.1.11 driver supports Windows 10, Pro Tools 10 only runs on Windows 7, Win 8 or Win 8.1.

You mentioned your "last PC" was running Win 10 home ed., correct? Were you using Pro Tools 10 with the Eleven Rack on that?

I run PT 10HD with TDM cards on both Win 7 and Mac 10.8.5. I use the Eleven Rack on PT 11.3.2 HD and PT 12.4, but only on a Mac.

Panamajack... Where in that link that you posted does it say anything about Windows 10 not being supported for Pro Tools 10? That page is about the Eleven Rack, and I could find nothing saying Pro Tools 10 won't run on Windows 10. Not to mention that fact that I'm running Pro Tools 10 and 11 on a Windows 10 machine without issue.

I think the link posted, while for the 11R, doesn't cover the actual usage of PT10 and Win10. This link does and the situation is even worse as PT10 is only compatible with Win7sp1: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...tibility-Chart
The first fully compatible PT with Win10 is PT 12.5

I think it is great your system is working fine, I was just noting that Avid does not support PT 10 on Windows 10. The issue was the OP was having problems.

Maybe share with us the specifics about what PC you are running, I think the OP's issue was on a custom build. Also, are you running an Eleven Rack on Windows 10 with your PT 10 and PT 11 setup?

There are two sections on the Eleven Rack page: first is for the Mac, second is for the PC (look under release 1.1.7...). Avid has moved on from PT10, but it is possible that Windows 10 has received enough "updates" so that whatever caused the original incompatibility no longer applies. Avid supports specific hardware/software combinations.

I'm running a custom build as well. I7-950, ASUS Sabretooth X58 MB, 6gb ram, 250gb SSD for system, 1TB hdd for data. I do not use Eleven Rack, so I'm no help there. I am using the now defunct Control/24 board through a Digi002 rack interface. And like I said, I'm having no problems with PT10. I'd LIKE to upgrade to 12, but since AVID has refused to support my Control/24, and I don't feel like shelling out 6k+ for a C/24, the next board to be scrapped by them, I'm holding onto my PT10. I use 11 only for the quick bounce feature so far, since I have no control surface for it.

Oh, and possibly significant, I'm running both PT10 and 11 vanilla, NOT HD.
