Re: C24 ALL LIT UP
Two days and I'm still OK. (But my fingers are still crossed.)

Re: C24 ALL LIT UP
i know what it is...the way it's designed, the vibration from the speakers loosens some of the connectors...every time I open it up, something's loose. I reseat em and it's back to good...

Re: C24 ALL LIT UP
Just a quick survey here.
How many C24 users are opening their PSU each month or so to re-seat the connectors after having the ALL LIT UP problem or scribble strip dims. For my part, I've been living with that issue since almost 3 years now. Here's what a Local Digidesign Authorized Center did on our C24: Changed PSU for the most recent REV H. Changed the CUB card. (it is NOT the one with 5 brown sockets!) Changed a Fader board which has been damaged in the beginning. Cleaned ALL contacts / connectors with Caig Progold. Still I have those ALL LIT up leds every month or two.... What can it be? From what i presume its caused by sound vibrations that makes the connectors loose inside or transients in the PSU that can only escape by disconnecting the cables. How can I adress this issue apart from sending my unit to Digi. Would appreciate any inputs on this. Thanks!

Re: C24 ALL LIT UP
It's got to be transients. I've had the unit powered up 24/7 for about six or seven months now. (I think I powered it down three times... twice because there was a blackout in my area.) No problems yet. If you're having this problem reseat your power supply as previously discussed in DUC and then LEAVE YOUR CONTROL 24 ON.
This, of course, is my opinion based on my experience with this one situation only, but my tech agrees that leaving it on will reduce the risk of getting "all lit up".

Re: C24 ALL LIT UP
Hi all
Had to open C24 again today! Almost 1 year without ALL LIT UP! Interesting to read, I switch off and on every night, working 5 days a week. See you in about a year

Re: C24 ALL LIT UP
Interesting read.
I've been experiencing a light show lately. Happens some days, then goes away. Yeah, the whole desk lights up, but I'll get other stuff too. The monitor section lights up occasionally, and all faders jump to attention sometimes.. (I love that when I'm mixing. ) I'll dig into the PS tonight, and post back.. Andrew |
