Default Error code AAE -6101 protools 12.5.2

Hello there, I am having issues recording and playing back my tracks. Even with no plugins and minimal tracks and the buffer size turned all the way up I’m still receiving this error code AAE -6101 saying I should remove plugins or raise the buffer size. I figured I had a bad plugin so I removed all the plugins from the avid and digidesign folders but the error continues. It also doesn’t seem to matter what interface I’m using which include a focusrite Saffire pro 40, an Mbox pro circa 2010 or just the built in output on my laptop. I’m running protools 12.5.2 on Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. If anyone could help me I would be forever grateful!!
