Default broadband noise reduction/hum removal modules in SDII

Does any know why I can not get the DINR modules to show in Sound Designer II. According to the manual they should show up as long as they are residing in the "plug-ins" folder in the SDII directory - not on my computer!!!!! HELP PLEASE!

What version of DINR and SDII are you using? What CPU? What OS?

It's hard to say from your posting but my guess is that you are using PCI hardware.

Unfortunately, Sound Designer on PCI hardware does not support plugins.

George-
Im pretty sure that the answer to your question is...never. In fact, i've heard that SDII's future is very much in doubt. Sorry, dude.

To Techsupt

Does anyone at Techsupt know when the DINR software is going to be made compatible with SD II Ver.2.82 for a PCI system. I am using an mac9500.

Sound Designer does not recognize any plug ins on a PCI mac. There are no updates or fixes for this.

George-
By now I suppose you've heard of DINR 3.0.
If not, it supports PCI based systems. There
is a price to pay if you use DINR 3.0 - it
only has broadband noise reduction on PCI
systems. No hum removal - period. AND they
still sell it for an inflated price. If I'm
only getting half I should pay only half. If
you decide to get it, let me know how well it
works.

Pesedjet is partially correct. DINR 3.0 is supported on PCI systems in Pro Tools software as an audiosuite plugin. Unfortunately, it is not supported in Sound Designer on PCI hardware.

As you may already know, DINR consists of two applications, essentially. Broadband Noise Reduction (BNR) and Hum Removal. Hum Removal is a TDM plugin only and therefore can only be used on a Pro Tools TDM system (Pro Tools III or Pro Tools 24 hardware). BNR is now available as an audiosuite plugin under the audiosuite menu in Pro Tools in any hardware configuration of Pro Tools 4.x software. This includes Pro Tools powermix, Pro Tools Project, Pro Tools III and Pro Tools 24.

I will pass on your suggestion/request to add plugin support to Sound Designer on PCI hardware but I'm unable to say if and when this may happen.

Thanks,

Jon Connolly
