Default 003 / protools 9 problem solved

I made a new thread of this issue hopefully to attract the attention of the many others out there who have had problems. I must personally thank Mr. Stephen Naya for his patience and knowledge which I am obligated to pass along.

#1 - In the audio/midi set-up (HD>applications>utilities), make sure that
"aggregate device" is removed, even if your 003 interface is there also.
Highlight "aggregate device", and click the minus sign ("-") at the
bottom to remove it. Do this for both Audio IN and OUT.

#2 - After doing the install of PT, before even opening a session, go to
"disk utility" and run the "repair permissions" for your internal drive.

#3 - Minimize the number of external daisy-chained FW drives between
computer and 003 interface. And don't use any drives not approved
by Avid/Digi. Oddly enough, I was using 2 LaCie Porsches with PT 7.3
and had no problem.

I hope this helps....
