Best way to get 32 analog in and outs from 2x 192?
I have been looking at several options, and none of them are particularly easy or cheap. The 192 only allows for an additional 8 channels of analog that can be either A/D or D/A not both.
So if I have 2 192’s I could fit them with one A/D card and one D/A card. This would give me a total of 24 in’s and outs. Expensive! I was also looking at the Apogee D/A 16 and A/D 16 units. I could buy an A/D 16 unit and two protools D/A cards. (or a D/A 16). However, there doesn’t seem to be anyway of sharing the apogee unit with two separate 192 units, as there is only one D25 sub connector. (unless I am able to buy some kind of Y adapter that will allow me to connect to both units. This again is very expensive! Can anyone think of another solution that is a bit cheaper?
