Moving from PC to Mac
I plan on jumping from a PC to a G4 with 001.
I wish to run native instruments software. Would it be best to have it all on the G4? Or do most of you use a second computer to free up your Pro Tools computer? thanks, --james |

Re: Moving from PC to Mac
Try waiting for PT6 with OS X and dualsupport as now the Macs less powerful. from beta-testers I know that usually they can run 3 instances of Virtual Instruments inside an average PT session.

Re: Moving from PC to Mac
as far as running more than one machine...you cant go wrong!!
I run 3 different platforms at work (Irix, W2K and OS9x) and W2K/OSX/OS9x at home. Cant go wrong there. As far as a dedicated box, that would make sense. Im almost ready to test my mBox on WindowsXP Pro but at the moment its on my G4 running sweet and fine:O) It will stay on the G4 eventually but I have some free time this month. Good luck! Happy Holidays:O) |
