HD - how to get 32 analog outs

Can anyone provide some advice on how one might go about setting up and HD2 system going into a 32 channel analog mixer (for OTB mixingbut not tracking)? Cost IS an issue.

For example, getting two Apogee DA-X with HD cards is one way; but are there others? eg SSL MADI and then some (??) MADI to analog converter etc etc.

Any advice appreciated.

I've been hearing cool stuff about the Lynx stuff lately. One unit with the direct connect card appears as two 192's and has identical delay so ADC is perfect.

that's true about the Lynx Aurora 16, I think it sounds better than a 192, no fan (quiet) 16 analog in, 16 analog out, PT HD card available, delay exactly the same as a 192 so delay compensation in PT works perfect. I bought two and only needed one so am selling one brand new never used for $2499, full warranty, blank card etc. Great bang for the buck, i am really impressed with it.

You could add an addition AD card in a 192 i/o HD interface, whick gives you 16. Purchase a 24 bit ADAT brigde, connect it to the Legacy port of the 192 i/o (now you have 32), and from there you likely need a couple of 8 channel light pipe to Analog interfaces. There are a lot of those out there. . . depending on your budget. Keep in mind this setup would be limited to 44k1 or 48k.

If cost is an issue and you are only going up to 48k 24bit, you can always hang a couple of 888/24 I/O's off the 192 and get 32 outs.
