Mbox 002R problems, temp fixes and registration

I believe I have the common power harness problem with my 002R. Same problems.. starts with a clicking, then the firewire won't connect and the monitor mute button is stuck.

Anyway, I bought the 002R almost exactly 1 year ago, I haven't registered yet, but I am going to fax them a copy of the card tomorrow and then call them to try and get the kit. Even though I am just registering now, and it is technically 1 year (and 3 days) since I bought the unit, will they still give me the kit no charge?

Also, is there any temp fixes for this? I desperately need a working pro tools rig and this is really going to hurt.

There is a pretty effective quick fix i've used several times that works pretty well. I just open the 002r, make sure that all of the connections are good and tight (by wiggling and pushing in the harness plugs), and then everything works.

first i was worried that this would void my warranty but i guess that since it is past a year its already used up.

do you know if they will still send me a replacement kit for no charge?

I don't think the power harness issue requires you to be inside the one year warranty, from what I understand they'll send you a free new harness (you pay for shipping) no matter when your product was purchased/registered. At least that was the case for one of my clients who had an 002 that was well over a year old - they sent out the harness and all she had to pay was the shipping.
