Re: Sub-mixes can work! New songs with 001
professor m,
Actually, I had to tweek quite frequently. It is true that some quality is lost once you bounce to disk, so adjusting levels and pans became a task. At times (depending on what track I was adjusting) I had to re-work one mix, bounce to disk, then open my other session, bounce to disk again (so I would have the adjustments in my "master" session. Of course this isn't the prime condition one wants to work in... but for under a $1000.00 I didn't mind the additional attention (and work). My biggest problem is that I AM VERY STUBBORN and would spend many a late night tweeking the slightest bit (just ask Kenny - my band mate)!! |

Re: Sub-mixes can work! New songs with 001
You shouldn't use Xing to encode your Mp3s. It's a very bad encoder.
Try http://www.musicmatch.com/ basic. There's also a version for the Mac. But don't encode with Normal Quality, because the codec used for the "Normal" setting has a bug! For more information on this topic you should visit http://fastforward.iwarp.com/cbr128.html I hope you can use it! dayz |

Re: Sub-mixes can work! New songs with 001
dayz,
After checking out the mp3 article, I went and purchased musicmatch 6.0. I didn't even know that there could be audible differences in the encoding (I should have though!). I intend on converting the songs with this software and then re-posting them on mp3.com... |

dayz,
I found MusicMatch to be fantastic. I thank you for your info (in fact, I'm going to post a new topic about mp3 conversion). Thanks again!! Todd |
