Default Izotope plugins not working in 2023.6

Hi all,

I finally made the update to 2023.6 last night from PT 2022.xx on my Mac Studio.

All went relatively smoothly, and I like using 2023.6. The one big bug I can’t seem to figure out is why certain Izotope plugins aren’t working. They aren’t even showing up in my plug-in menu. For example, Izotope Tonal Balance 2 is gone.

I opened up the Izotope installer app, and it says everything is installed and up to date. Anybody run into this issue specifically with Izotope products? What did you do to correct it?

Are you on an Apple M processor computer?
Sorry... just noticed the "mac Studio" listed

2023.3 and later Pro Tools open by default as native. Non-native AAX plugins will not show up (a lot of izotope is non-native and for many that are native, you have to be on the latest version.)

Previous versions of Pro Tools opened under Rosetta. Your previous version opened under Rosetta. That means those non-native plugins show up. All of this has been covered in depth on the DUC for 5 months now.
Change your Pro Tools 2023.6 to run under Rosetta and those non-native AAX plugins will show up again. (Find the Pro Tools application, do a "get info" on the application in Finder, check the Rosetta box. Then Pro Tools runs under rosetta)

A lot of Izotope products are not ready for AAX native in PT on Apple silicon macs:

See "Izotope compatibility with Apple silicon"

If you run PT in Rosetta mode, they'll work.

Ok, tried reopening PT in Rosetta mode and that solved the problem.

Is there a downside to using Rosetta, other than the potential for sluggish performance? To be honest, I really didn’t know anything about Rosetta until a few minutes ago. I usually only update PT once every few years, but the update to 2023 seemed like a fairly big one, so I took the plunge earlier than I normally would, since 2023.6 seemed to address fixes for a few dealbreaker bugs for me.

I suppose Im wondering, since the only plugins that seem to be affected on my rig are the Izotope ones, if it makes sense to disable Rosetta for mixing, and only enable it for mastering sessions (this is where I use Izotope stuff)?

Sure. Totally safe to switch between Rosetta on or off.

Ozone 10 and RX-10 properly functioning here natively in 2023.6.

I wouldn't call Rosetta sluggish at all, tho, its held down the fort pretty darn well in this transition period.
