Default iPad control of Profile..help!

Yes, another thread about this topic....
I have spent 3 days trying to get this to work and as I saw a guest engineer make it work, on the same console...I know it can work!
Here is the setup...
router connected to "Ethernet" port on FOH rack
console gets IP from router via DHCP (tried static as well)192.168.0.2 port 5600...password "password"
I confirmed the console server is getting IP from router.

Router in same IP group 192.168.0.100 (set to give only 10 IP addresses, 0.1-0.11)
Set router to open WiFi channel 4. I'm 6' away and connection to iPad seems good.

iPad IP is 192.168.0.3 (DHCP) and is connecting to router.

iTeleport set to 192.168.0.2 and port 5600 and password entered. "security" off

Try to connect and it stalls "waiting for connection"

I had an IT guy look over the settings and the router is seeing all the members of the network but when the Avid server was pinged, no return.
He suggested that is significant.
We tried a VPN connection from a PC laptop and same result. The server, while getting an IP from the router, seems to not want to play with others.
Changed LAN cable and tried a different router. No love....
I'm stumped. Had I not seen it work already, I would just give up.(sigh...)
Any suggestions would be great...thanks.

Hi Keith,

I posted a response to the PSW thread about this too. Copied here below...I'd start by double-checking the port number, as this could cause issues.

Couple of things to check (I know they seem obvious, but have to ask)...

Ethernet Control software is installed, and remote control is enabled?
- Check Options > Interaction page. "Enable Remote Control" should be checked, and should say "Waiting for Connection"

iTeleport protocol is set to VNC, and port setting is 5900.

The console firewall blocks ping requests, which is why you wouldn't have received a response using ping.

Don't hesitate to call the support folks if this doesn't resolve the issue. That's what they're there for. 650-731-6111.
