Default Pro tools LE 8 and 003+ surround output

hello, ive never worked with a 003 before and am curious about getting one now that pro tools LE has surround capabilities.

does anyone happen to know if you will be able to assign all of the channels to the main monitor level control knob on the front of the 003? or will you have to use an external surround level controller like the coleman SR5.1MKII for master volume control?

also, are the outputs freely assignable in the 003? i notice there is a main output and outputs 1-8. what would be the most "correct" way to set up your physical outputs with this system? use outputs 1-6? or main output for 1+2 and 1-4 for Ls. Rs center and LFE?

thanks!!
joseph

The front control does NOT control individual outputs on the 003. You will need some kind of external box to have 1 knob control Surround output..

I use an Onkyo home theater receiver (multi channel input for surround monitoring). Works great!
