Massey Dtm plugin...

Ok how the heck do i get this plugin?

I just bought the Tapehead plugin and I thought if i bought a plugin i could download Dtm as well. Well Ive emailed Massey a few times and Ive got no response. I really need this for the project I'm working on and any help would be super....

You mean TDM?

I've always understood that Pro Tools LE can only use RTAS plugins (or VST with the wrapper) due to there being no additional DSP cards supported. Pro Tools HD uses TDM plugins.

If there is a way to utilize TDM plugins into PT LE, I would love to know how.

The DTM download access is through your Massey user account It should be on the same page as whatever other product you purchased. You should have gotten an email link to the registered users area and also an 2nd email with the DTM code unique to you.

Nope, he does mean DTM, which is a plugin that Massey has designed to convert Drums to Midi (DTM).

If you login to the User Page on the Massey web page. Massey sends you an email with your password when you buy from him. Once you login, on your User Page under System Stats and EMail Preferences, there should be a download area. The Tape Head thingy should be first, then the DTM should be below it. I have the L2007 from Massey, not the Tape Head, and the DTM download sits just below the download for the L2007 on my User Page. I'm guessing its the same for every Massey user.

Dood, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I did a bit more reading. If you go to:

You can read the following at the bottom of the page.

"The complimentary DTM plugin is no longer available."

Thats a real bummer. I did check, and its still in my download page, so I'm guessing that Steve Massey is no longer offering it to new customers.

Kinda lame, cause as much as I like Steve's plugins, I really bought the L2007 because of the DTM. Thats what really sold me. After the fact, I really love my L2007, and I do mean REALLY, but the DTM... it's priceless.

I'm not sure if Steve just stopped offering it because it was giving him too much trouble, or what. Although I don't have a single hiccup with mine. I do think that his resources are limited as far as support and such. I believe he is the only "employee" of Massey Plugins. But my hope is that he's working on a version that might be better, more features or better compatibility. Maybe its wishful thinking, but I'd be very happy if that were the case.

Again, sorry to bring the bad new!

If you can get in touch with Steve Massey, and you get permission, I'd be willing to share my version with you. But only if I can hear directly from Steve that its ok. I refuse to pirate anything, for any reason. I don't know him personally so I can't do much for you.

Interesting that it's a VST plug since Steve only develops RTAS. I wonder if he sold or licensed the algorithm.

Read at Steven's site:
