Can't be officially done; you;d have to hack the installer and even if you do get PT10 installed there are several issues with it like missing entries in the track insert menus.

That's the official line; PT10 will install and work just fine in OSX 10.9.x it's just that the uninstaller won't work.

well i did mange to get it work but as expected, when it opened ...menues were missing. only a few fx / EQs avaible also ....half of the avid instruments missing.

I really dont want to go to PT11 right now because i have a lot of 32bit plugins and also 32bit VSt plug warpped to RTAS format.

plus the upgrade isnt that cheap is it.

Same old with avid isnt it, i have upgraded previous versions before , paid the price etc as also with their hardware ..but its an expense that keeps on going.

You're ignoring the paths that are available for people in your situation. Bit bridge (jbridgeMac) to go from 32 bit to 64 bit and then host the bridged vst format plugins inside Blue Cat Audio Patchwork or MB7-2. Or if you have the au versions there's 32Lives! as a bridge and right now Blue Cat is having their usual year end sale on plugins and they have a combo of Patchwork and 32Lives! for 20% off the normal price (or more if you have the discount code for being a previous customer).

The ONLY plugin related reason to not upgrade at this point is that of relying on CRACKED plugins. By now, almost every plugin you can imagine has a compatible AAX installer, most that don't even require an upgrade fee to update.

Secondly, you can install PT11/12 along side 10 and just use 10 for all your old stuff and do all your new recordings in 11/12 with compatible/legit plugins.

It works for Mavericks also. The one big downside is if you need to uninstall PT. You would need to do a manual uninstall. But I have it running on my MBP running 10.9.4 and it works fine.
