Default Switched pro tools 6.9 to new laptop, help!

whats up guys,
I had protools on my old laptop that crashed, which was a sony vaio. it worked fine on there. I recently got an alienware laptop and now its acting up when I record. if i try to record and the playback engine is at 1024 a message comes up saying it is conflicting with other programs. when I put it down to 512 it says I need to increase the buffer on it to 1024. so I'm kinda stuck. the difference between computers is my new one has a 4800 AMD processor instead of a pentium 4m. also I have 2 harddrives on raid 0 configuration. let me know if you guys have any ideas or need more information. thanks for the help!

PT does not support RAID so that is one of the first things I would disable. Did you run thru the thread on troubleshooting(you should). Did you check on compatibility before buying your new laptop?
