Default What is the real update price ?

Hi everybody.

I received a mail from Avid that says : "En tant que d้tenteur d'un Pro Tools | HD 10/11, vous pouvez effectuer la mise เ niveau vers Pro Tools | HD 12 pour 540 €" (As a Pro Tools | HD 10/11 owner, you can update to Pro Tools | HD 12 for a 540€ fee).

I follow the link to the store, and then, the fee raise to 642,60€. https://shop.avid.com/ccrz__ProductD...03&&store=shop

Do people at Avid know that there are laws against that ?

It's probably taxes you are seeing there.

Yes it is the TAX/VAT that has been added to all EU countries and this has been discussed on here many times. Not just Avid but basically all plugin developers too so no illegal practices here unless you think it is too expensive which some of us here believe it may be

The email should have included a footnote stating "All prices are MSRP excluding VAT and are subject to change without notice" but I can see why this caused you some concern. I forwarded this to the folks in marketing so we can try and prevent this confusion going forward.

Thanks Christopher and Jeffro. I supposed that was Vat/Taxes, but in France, when price isn't given as "not including VAT", it is supposed to be "including VAT.

(And thanks to the moderator for having deleted a stupid post.)

Just FYI: Prices for e.g. avid products here in DK ends up being ~23 % higher than the US MSRP. That means that we must love Pro Tools more.
