Default Major problems wih Pro Tools 10 and Digi003 Factory AND Mbox 3 mini

OK, this will take some explaining. As you can tell from my signature, I run Pro Tools 10, Digi003 on a MacBook Pro 15,4" 2,5 GHZ, 4 GB RAM, OSX 10.6.8.

A couple of days ago, this worked great. Now, Pro Tools will not recognize the Digi 003. I've done no updates, shut the computer off after a night's session, turned it on tonight and now this problem occurs.

I've tried deleting preferences, rebooting the computer, no help.

So, I thought I might as well plug in my spare Mbox 3 mini. This one Pro Tools 10 does recognize, but when I try to start a new session, I get this weird error message instead (see attatched file).

When I try to load an old session, I get a dialog saying the current playback engine doesn't support 48 khz, or 44.1 khz.

Now, this trouble with the Mbox, it turns out, occurs with PT 10 on my other laptop as well, a modern MacBook Pro running latest OS.

Anyone?

With the Mbox connected, have you already installed the Mbox driver?(you need to), then go to Setup>Hardware and see that the Mbox is the selected Audio Engine. Not sure how deep your knowledge on this stuff is, so be aware of this; if you connect or disconnect the FW cable with the 003 and computer ON, its very possible to fry the FW chip in the 003, the FW chip in the computer, or even both. You need to find someone else locally that uses an 003 and try connecting and testing yours to see if you cooked the FW board(fingers crossed that you did NOT). Of course, trying another FW cable is ALWAYS a good idea(and its good to have a spare cable as they do fail, and for no good reason).

Well, the computer at least seems alright, and I have been able to run Itunes through the Digi003, so I think I'm alright. Drivers installed, yes.
