I've got a Mac MINI 1.8GHz Duo Core and have installed M-Powered Academic on it without issue. I don't use it for that... I use the MINI as a music server... but it does work. Make sure you get an external drive to record to. I'd recommend something like THIS.

I can't hang with too much jargon, but I can tell you I have a MacBook, OS 10.4.9, Mbox2 mini and Pro Tools LE 7.3.1 that works great!

If you go to the main page for these forums you'll find an area detailing computer compatibility for ProTools. This should help you with your decision.

PT M-Powered will certainly run on a Mini and/or MacBook Pro. My biggest issue with the Mini is having to drag around a monitor and keyboard for location work. If you need to be mobile, get the MacBook Pro.

I've been using ProTools M-Powered with a Macbook since July of last year, and it works great. Just remember to download the latest drivers, etc..
