Have you checked the compatibility?

* not that i can help, i think the people that can would want to know which motherboard you are using.

#1. Do your self a favor and check if your computer (mother board chip set) is compatible.

after you do that, people here can continue to advice you.

Mine is 865G Neo 2-P ...
Digidesign's list: Asus P4C800-E motherboard
Intel 845/845E/845PE, 850/850E, 865PE, 875P, 915GL/915GV, 925XE, 945G/945P*, 955X* chipsets with Intel Pentium 4 processors

There is a 865 on the list but not "G" so that could be a problem... or THE problem????

Meanwhile try uninstalling the Audigy and run without it to see if that helps.

One Problem.... The audigy is my only Firwire ports... i have to plug my digi 002 into the Audigy 2 soundcard to run it. I think, i know that should be bad, but i have no other way to do it. I bought a 3 slot firewire card but it has major problems... i get more buffer errors and firewire errors than ever with my firewire card. So the sudigy is the best way for me to go... I dont know what to do guys. Yes i have went throught the troubleshooting for digidesign... no help.

Im gonna buy a Powerbook G4 17 inch 1.6ghz soon. I just want to get this machine of mine working so that i can record until i get my powerbook (in 2months).

So anyone have any more help?

Thanks in advance...

To me it sounds like a firewire issue. I would check the compato page and find out
which cards are supported. The Audigy is rather flakey as it is,let alone using it's
onboard FW connection. There could even be a IRQ sharing issue there.

I would hold out for that Powerbook rather than spending the money on another FW card
unless you have a good return policy of course and how badly you need that setup
to get you by.

Two things:

In the first post you say you have an "MSI Core Cell Mother board" then later you state you have an "Asus P4C800-E motherboard". Which one is it? If it's an MSI those have been problematical in the past.

And, yes you need an approved FireWire card. Many problems have been solved just by using a compatible/recommended FireWire card.

Happy New Year!
