Default SIIG FireWire 2-Port ExpressCard (part number NN-EC2012-S1) Unknown Vendor!?!?

This link here.

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...id=28371,23114

Says.

Maximum Track Count with Mbox 2 Pro on MacBook Pro
To help achieve maximum track count with DV Toolkit 2 or Music Production Toolkit when using the Mbox 2 Pro on the MacBook Pro, the following configuration is required:

* SIIG FireWire 2-Port ExpressCard (part number NN-EC2012-S1)
* Connect the Mbox 2 Pro to the built-in MacBook Pro FireWire 400 port
* Connect 2 or more qualified FireWire 400 drives (daisy chained) to one of the ports on the SIIG FireWire 2-Port ExpressCard

But my MacBook Pro sees it only as an "Unknown Vendor".

In the System Profile > Hardware > PCI Cards The Express card shows up.

But in the tool bar the icon says Unknown Vendor.

The light comes on the card but it will not power on my 320GB OWC Mercury to go.

The express cards don't provide bus power without adding the optional power adapter.

Update.

I tried another external hard drive and it powered up. A Seagate Free Agent 1.5 TB this HD but it has its own power supply.

The SIIG card is supposed to power devices that go from a 9 to 6 pin firewire 400 connection without an additional power supply.

The 320 GB OWC Mercury to Go meets this standard.

I can power up the 320 GB OWC using the 800 and the 400 firewire ports on my lappy.

Anyone else using this configuration have any incite on this issue?

Aiport is turned off.

Thanks
