Default Protools 11 11.0 to 11.3 disaster

Greetings

iMac i7 16gb ram / Apollo duo / 2 LACIE drives

last night i decided to update PT11 from 11.0.3 to 11.3.2. For some odd reason this has caused my drives not work properly. I hit the play and the tracks stop after about 20+ seconds with the AAE 9073 error. This of course is driving me crazy. Any suggestions? Thanks Steve

Hmm. Sorry to hear this.. I had great results with 11.3.2.. I was on Yosemite I believe however. The only difference other than a Mac Pro. Tr removing ALL prefs and trashing them of course. That's all I can think of right now. G

What specific LaCie drives do you have and how is everything connected to your computer? If things are daisy-chained something in the middle might have gone to sleep. Just updating PT should not have the effect you are seeing. Do you by some chance have the drives set to go to sleep in OSX? Some older LaCie drives would go to sleep on their own no matter what is set in the operating system.

I don't think so, but in your case I would seriously consider doing an entire "clean" install. It takes some time, but it would be better than having all of those older prefs and older programs in there that might be problematic. I did this because of an external HD issue that was hard to chase down and Seagate kept accusing me of having programs that would be causing the problem. In the end, it was the HD itself, but the system runs way better now than it did. Just make sure to clone your HD or BU all of your apps and plugins and re-install when necessary. Good Luck!
I would actually go to 12 if you can, but if you are on 11, you might be fine to just upgrade the OS. Not sure about eleven. 12.6.1 is really stable for me on Sierra and even running 10.12.4 version which supposedly is not approved yet.
