Avid 8*8*8. Use 16 channels of adat at once?

Hi everyone!

Just wondering if it’s possible to use the 8*8*8 interface as a 16 ch adat interface? Can both adat ports be used at the same time?

I haven't done it myself since I own an HD I/O 16x16, but the specs say yes.

The first 8 channels would be the card, and the 2nd 8 channels would use the [ENC] or enclosure I/O that's built in.

It seems that it shiuld work, but it’s a little vague when you read the description I think. It says 8 analogue and 8 digital ins and outs, not that it’s an option having 16 digital ins and outs.

So basically an 8*8*8 could act as a hd 16 digital and as a hd16 analogue if one buys an extra analogue i/o card?

Its all in the Hardware Setup menu and its a bit daunting. Plan on a spare afternoon to get it all working and save screen captures once you do, for future reference(deleting prefs will default those settings back to stock)
