Default Re: So Digi, What is up with Structure ?

Not having any samplers at the time I bought Structure and its libraries figuring "Hey Its Digi...it should work, be updated regularly and integrate better with Pro Tools" plus NI's udate schedule had let me a bit miffed so I bit.

What I would like to see. A) Fix Structure so that it works as advertised.... No excuse for it not too-it should be AIR's flagship plugin B) Make it resizable..This along with all of the other points mentioned were as I recall were mentioned in Beta testing. C) Since no 3rd party converters are working well with Structure and it's using a proprietary sample format I think Digi/AIR should be the ones to code a sample converter that DOES work and I think it should be free for exsisting owners of the full version of Structure.

This is the funniest thing I've seen on the DUC in a long time.

I used structure for a few weeks after buying it. Kontakt and giga are all I use now. Structure is terrible. Let's face it. A majority of the AIR plugs are fair but certainly nothing compared to third party developers.

Hi, 25 ghosts

It's always a pleasure to read your threads

Precise and based on real facts… Bravo !

I have to buy a sampler and I'm hesitating for long months. I'm fade up with waiting MOTU MachFive update and I have read to many threads about Structure issues…

I'm planning to buy Kontakt (Thanks to Relaxo for the link, the leopard compatibility of kontakt was the main reason to wait for) or maybe EXS but it means to switch for Logic that I don't really know yet but seems to work pretty good…

So, I'm like you, waiting for Digi news about Structure Full version…

I already own Structure LE wich came with MPTK2 and it's not really usefull.

PS. From what I've understood you can run Machfive, could you tell me with what computer and what OS are you using it.

Thanks for all

+1 We don't have any proper soft-sampers for ProTools 8 at the moment.
So now with PT8 we can properly edit midi but can't open our sample libraries..

Structure isn't really about having the ability to load and play your previous sample libraries - in whatever format they might exist - it's a vehicle for loading new Digi samples, which work just as THEY are advertised to, but with the unfortunate side effect of requiring additional money to obtain. See where I'm going with this? No? Think "marketing..." This vehicle wants new tires, not retreads.

Eric, maybe you should read this thread once again, when you are not driving in your vehicle.

Structure does not meet the claims of it's advertisement. At all.

And the marketing vehicle you are talking about is conveying that you can load your old libraries.

And I might add that the only tire manufacturers for this vehicle are ewql which are libraries
that don't go beyond the quality of GM midi.

How are you going to put tires on you vehicle if nobody are making any

Hey Morten,
yes..i also invested in the chicken translator (the structure edition)
cannot say that it works the way they advertised too..exs convert is horrible
some .gig are very well---kontakt2structure simply doesn't work...
i bought the kirk hunter solo strings and the bela d celtic wind collections and both translate NOT into structure..
well.. i invested time...hahaha--yes..
i can now build my own patches in structure from scratch..
all i need are good samples..thanks to heaven both librarys are quite well :)
its all there in structure..why do they cannot handle the import problem
is a mystery to me
cheers
d

I enjoy the light heartedness of the discussion but if you think about what Digidesign has done it's not that funny.

They truly lied to everyone who thought they could translate their expensive libraries and took their money under false pretenses.

In many other industries that would be severely dealt with.

Have customers absolutely NO right to demand a refund if they buy goods that are falsely advertised?

You're probably thinking that maybe one day in the future they will fix it so you cut theme a bit of slack.

This is fundamentally wrong. It's a cheap and underhanded way to treat customers and if you let them get away with it they will do it again.

BTW I don't own Structure.

It's a Zen Sampler ....fair point...i bought Structure LE just last week actually, & only after playing around with it..realized there was very little content actually available for it.
